2012 The Season to Remember

As the players reported to the locker room for the last time this year to hand in their equipment, for the 17 seniors it was the last time they will step into the locker room as high school football players, as part of the team.    For four years they were there everyday during football season and during the off-season for training.  Now it’s time to say good-bye to a season to remember.  With a trip to Gillette Stadium to play in the Super Bowl, it will be hard to forget.

Super Bowl Bound!

The Pioneers advance to the SuperBowl after beating Amesbury in the playoff game 35-14.   Lynnfield has not been to the SuperBowl since 1986.  What a season it has been!  The Pioneers will play Bishop-Feehan for the championship.  They will play this once in a lifetime game at Gillette Stadium.  What better way to end this 2012 season!

CAL Champs!

CONGRATULATIONS PIONEERS!!!!   The CAL/NEC 4 Division Champions. A great game against North Reading but the underdog won. Final score: Lynnfield 14 – N Reading 7.   They will continue on to the playoff game Tuesday night when they battle Amesbury.  The winner of that game will go on to the SuperBowl.   Game time Tuesday is 5:15 in Lowell (Cawley Stadium).

Thanksgiving Day Game

As the end of the 2012 season is upon us, we know that this last game is THE deciding game for division championship and playoffs.  It comes down to the Pioneers and the Hornets.  Who will prevail?  Can Lynnfield keep the momentum going to beat North Reading?  We will find out on Thanksgiving morning.  Kick off is at 10:30.

Game Updates

Lynnfield beat Hamilton-Wenham Saturday 25-14.  A win they needed to stay in playoff contention.  They are now 2-0 in league standings.  But they are not alone – North Reading is also 2-0 and have a big game Friday night against Hamilton-Wenham.  The Pioneers play on Saturday at home hosting Georgetown.

Game Day Shout Outs

Send a “Shout-Out” to a member of

the Pioneer Football Team

to be announced during the

Thanksgiving Day Game!

At the Thanksgiving Day Game this year we will be announcing your special message to your son or the team.   Anyone can send a “Shout-Out”.

Messages will be announced throughout the Thanksgiving Day Game.   The messages should be a congratulatory/well wish to your son.  This is a great way to remember the seniors as they play their last high school football game.

The cost of the Shout Out is $20.  If you would like to send an announcement to a team member, click on the link Shout Out to write your message.
